President's Message

BROCK JOHNSTON, 2019 NWHBA President, Rainey Homes

It is my pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the 2019 Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes, brought to you by the Northern Wasatch Home Builders Association (NWHBA).

For the past 25 years, the Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes has been a steady showcase of the highest of quality craftsmanship, innovative new home designs, technology, and trends in the home building industry.  This year, our 25th Parade of Homes Anniversary promises to be no exception. As a continuation of this tradition of excellence, this year’s parade features 19 unique homes that are sure to impress.

The dictionary defines “Tradition” as the handing down of customs or beliefs from generation to generation.  In celebrating our 25thanniversary NWHBA Parade of Homes tradition, we felt it important to recognize those innovators that came before us and established the customs and beliefs that building a quality home is essential for the health and viability of our community and industry for future generations.  As you visit these homes and meet the home builders and their teams, you will find a few things among these early pioneers. You will find that they have not only passed down the tradition of their craft on to their children, but have also inspired an entire new generation of home builders and trade contractors. In addition, they have had the privilege to work alongside these home builders as mentors and leaders in a thriving industry that has seen incredible and consistent growth over the past 25 years.

Recognizing that in order to make a difference in our community, early leaders from the home building industry established our own local association.  Today, the NWHBA is not only made up of home builders and trade contractors, but also includes professionals from various industries such as Architects, Engineers, Designers, Title Companies, Lenders, Advertisers, Insurance Agencies, Educators and many more.  The dual purpose of our association is to help educate, promote and advance the home building industry and also provide ways in which our members can give back to the community.  Each year, our members are heavily involved in various charitable projects. The NWHBA has a Charitable Foundation that provides thousands of dollars in university and vocational trade scholarships. In addition to these educational grants, the foundation and our members help with funding various projects such as providing Christmas to families in need, working with troubled youth organizations and the “Have a Heart” program. This program brings together members that donate their time, labor and supplies and collaborate to build a home for a disadvantaged family.

In creating and continuing this tradition, we have loved seeing it be passed on to our community as you come out and support the Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes each year with your families. Thank you for supporting our amazing builders and contractors each and every year. This allows us to not only continue to provide an amazing show for you to attend, but also to support our industry, ensuring quality home construction, advocate for affordable housing and strengthening our community.

If you would like to learn more about our association or become a member, please visit www.nwhba.net or connect with Lelana Wilson at lelana@nwhba.net

We are grateful to our NWHBA Team, Parade of Homes Committee, participating builders, trade professionals, suppliers and everyone involved in the making of this years’ parade.  Whether this is your first time attending or you are back to continue in this annual tradition, we are truly grateful to have you and welcome you to the 2019 Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes!
